Fair sun to the Octopus yacht

The Octopus, sister-ship of seaZen, was launched in Beaulieu-sur-mer.

No, this Octopus is not the mega yacht of 126 meters long with its 3 helicopters loading 849 446 liters of fuel. A spectacular vessel that the members of the Boat Club seaZen regularly greet while anchoring at Saint Jean Cap Ferrat!

Like its predecessor, the Octopus is a seaworthy solar boat, the SunSeaRider. Although the operation is quite delicate, the Monaco Marine yard carried out the launch skillfully. As soon as it was on the water, the Octopus joined directly its temporary berth, near the seaZen without it being necessary to make the least filling of fuel - solar propulsion forces!

For more than a week the two boats gathered together near the whale wharf, in the most picturesque part of the Beaulieu-sur-Mer harbor.

These few days were used by the Octopus to outfit the boat, test the behavior at sea and settle some details.

Let us hope for a "fair sun" (instead of "fair wind") to this new photovoltaic boat, and to his private owner. Once again it demonstrates that the energy transition is in motion.
