A beautiful and invigorating year 2020

The whole team of seaZen, your platform for online booking of solar boat trips, wishes to all visitors happiness, health, and prosperity! For seaZen, 2020 represents a new year with sea trips, and transmission of our passion for solar navigation. What about you? Are you going to enjoy the largest solar-powered catamaran on the Côte d'Azur in 2020?

In 2020, sail with no impact on nature!

Let's present our activity for those who don't know us: with seaZen, you have the possibility to rent a solar boat by three ways. A sea trip with a guide (for a trip along the coast), a 1 hour practice followed by a 2 hour self-navigation, or a self-driving license free for members.

In addition to allowing all public to sail on a large catamaran, seaZen has the advantage of offering a 100% ecological boat design. The electric motor powered by solar energy offers a clean cruise, healthy (because it does not emit exhaust fumes) and achieves the unparalleled feat of never having been recharged on the electrical grid.

A brand-new website

To start 2020, seaZen developed an improved site with the support of the Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry and 4helix+, as part of the project for the development of the maritime economy in the Mediterranean. The seazen.fr website is now available in a revised and expanded version, especially on the mobile part. The aim is to facilitate the solar-powered boat rental process with seaZen, so that the community of sea lovers will grow even more by 2020!

Happy new year 2021

The entire seaZen team wishes you an excellent year 2021. These are Zen and Confident wishes that we want to share with you today.

Zen

How can you not remain Zen after having welcomed more than 4,000 visitors aboard seaZen and seeing how everyone is amazed by the silent and odourless sailing experience of the electric sailing. To date, almost 8000 km have been covered since the first boat tour in June 2016 at Beaulieu-sur-Mer until the opening in August 2021 of the Juan-les-Pins site. To date, not a single kilowatt has been consumed on the electricity network... not to mention that zero grams of CO2 has been emitted! So yes, the public takes pleasure in sailing on a boat that glides at a maximum speed of 5 knots. In fact, many boaters are looking first and foremost to experience a Zen moment.

Confidence

We all want a better world and environmentally friendly sailing. So far, our experience has shown that technology is mature but that the hardest thing is to change our consumption habits.

In spring 2020 the world was stunned by the images of the Venice lagoon with its crystal-clear waters. In Nice, we witnessed in wonder the return of dolphins into Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat's bay. At the height of the confinement, Tuna, a Sperm Whale and a Rorqual whale were reported all along our coastline. We realized 2 things:

  1. Nature can come back very quickly
  2. We can change our boating habits

If we look back over the past year, we can guess what we missed the most to make the energy transition a success. What we have missed the most so far is confidence in our ability to change our habits. Covid's force majeure has proved that we are capable of such unbearable changes as lockdown, curfews and the closure of many activities such as Restaurants and Cinemas. Compared to all this, the switch to electric navigation is a change of habit that brings pleasure and a better lifestyle

So yes, we can all change and transform yachting at sea for a more pleasant and environmentally friendly navigation. How can we not be confident? The future depends on all of us together.
